For one thing, I know she and I both will eat things we don't normally eat anyway which is okay. There will be foods, snacks, meals and desserts at our disposal and convenience that we don't see on a regular basis. Since I don't make a big deal about food one way or the other (I more gently guide her and teach by example), when there are foods that aren't so good for her around, and she wants to try it, I'll let her try it. However, I will also ask her if what she is eating is considered "good heart food," or a "treat." We talk about it and I help her understand why that isn't a food I have around the house or eat very often. . .
